ABOUT RENEE DUMONT
Contemporary Impressionist Nature Painter
I am Renee Dumont, a Contemporary Impressionist painter creating atmospheric nature landscapes inspired by the places where earth begins to feel like heaven. I have been drawn to painting since childhood and have been a working artist since 1985. Today, my work focuses on light, atmosphere, water, trees, foliage, and the quiet beauty of the natural world.
MY ART
I paint the feeling of a place rather than simply documenting what I see. Working from direct observation and imagination, I combine recognizable elements of nature with expressive movement, layered luminous color, and palette-knife texture. Light filtering through trees, reflections on water, drifting clouds, branches, and leaves become opportunities to create a sense of stillness, beauty, and connection to nature.
My paintings are intentionally expressive rather than strictly representational. I want the viewer to feel as though they have stepped into the atmosphere of the place—to experience the quiet, the light, and the sense of peace that first inspired the painting. My work is part of an ongoing exploration of what I think of as “the places where earth begins to feel like heaven.”

The Quiet Light Collection brings together a group of atmospheric nature paintings centered around light, nature, peace, and emotional connection. Each painting is an invitation to pause and experience a moment of quiet beauty—whether beneath a canopy of trees, beside still water, or within an imagined landscape shaped by light and atmosphere.
ARTISTIC BACKGROUND
My professional art career began in 1985, when I worked as a member of artist William C Perry’s professional art team on large-scale art projects for restaurants, medical offices, government facilities, and municipal buildings. My artistic education includes three years of extended study in color and light at the Worcester Art Museum, an experience that continues to inform my approach to atmosphere, luminous color, and the way light transforms a landscape.
Over the years, I have continued to develop my own artistic voice while creating original work for collectors and thoughtfully designed spaces. Today, I work from my studios in Massachusetts and Southwest Florida.
ART FOR COLLECTORS & DESIGNED SPACES
My original paintings are created for collectors, interior designers, art consultants, and spaces where art can contribute to the atmosphere of the environment.I am especially interested in the relationship between nature, light, and interior spaces—and in creating artwork that brings a sense of peace and connection to the natural world.
COMMISSIONS
I also welcome commissions for meaningful landscapes and place-inspired paintings. A commission can be created from a meaningful location, landscape, view, or personal inspiration, with custom dimensions, color palette, and other specifications considered as part of the creative process.
